agweatherwatcher.com (This is the website of my cousin, Henry Diehl. This site is really neat in that it explains how weather ties directly into farming. Also, there are neat accounts and pictures from storm chases) KANSAS! Magazine (This is a good magazine to read as it contains excellent photography, and good information describing when and where to go when visiting Kansas. It often times contains some of my Kansas Landscape Photography!) danielwcoburn.com This website is a collection of my friend Dan's images. He has a really neat collection of black and white images connecting humans to nature. Lawrence Photo Alliance A collection of photographers from around the area whom meet once a month to discuss photo related items, show work, and travel on various photography trips. Castle Painting....(785) 456-1262. Ron Castle is a local painter/restorator. He is originally from this area, moved to Las Vegas to grow his business, and recently came back to Wamego to live the slower paced life. His work is second to none. Incredible job!! You can see his work in our historic studio! e-bdesign.com . E&B Design and Copy Center...A good company to work with. They designed our logo, and print up letterheads, fliers, ect. If you need it printed, they can probably do it. They were patient with me as I was really picky about my logo. They're very reasonably priced, too! (785) 456-2100, fax 1-866-314-9035 Located in Wamego. Sid Hoobler, relator. Sid is a relator that services Shawnee, Wabaunsee, and Pottawatomi counties. In my opinion, Sid's strengths are his honesty, and his down to earth personality. He doesn't come across as the high-pressure salesmen type. If you're thinking of buying or selling a house, do yourself a favor and look up his very informative web site at www.SidHoobler.biz.

Businesses: The following are different businesses that I've purchased supplies from in the past. For your reference, I've rated all businesses that I've crossed paths with. Keep in mind that all ratings and comments are strictly MY OPINION only! Castle Painting....Grade: A, Excellent job on redoing our walls which were in bad disrepair. He doesn't just paint, but fully preps the walls from patching holes to filling in gaps. The faux finish in our sitting room mimics the way it could have looked over 100 years ago! He gets supplies from Sherwin-Williams Paints. They have an antique paints pallet to choose from. Exceptional work! Thank you very much! Alma Bakery and Sweat Shop....Grade: A, Local sweet shop that specializes in making an assortment of breads, cookies, pies, fudge, brittles, and cakes. Their cinammon roles are worth the short drive through the Flint Hills! Their cookies are excellent, too. They will even cook in bulk if you need refreshments for an event, just call ahead. (785) 765-2235. Click this email address to send them an email: almabakery@kansas.net Dell...Grade: B, I purchased a computer from Dell. 3 different items have broken on it in the first year, but Dell's customer service was excellent! They air-shipped the necessary pieces next day, and had a technician at my house 2 days after my call with the part to fix it! Besides that, the computer has ran really well! Adorama...Grade: A, I purchase many of my photo supplies from Adorama. They have always been accurate, and are decently priced. Wolfe's Camera...Grade: C-, One of the gentlemen who works there helped 2 nice looking ladies in front of me and another man at the checkout registers, then announced he was going to break when it was the other mans turn, and closed the register, after the two of us waited for about 15 minutes in line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2. When shopping there for my Canon EOS 20D, a gentleman helping me promised me that if I ever had any technical problems with my camera, to bring it in and their "experts", whom also own Canon cameras, could help me. Well, 2 weeks after I got it, I had "ERR99" flashing on the control panel. I took it into Wolfe's for their "experts" to look at it. They wouldn't even look at my camera at all, like they promised and told me to ship it to Canon to look at as they aren't a repair company. Don't tell me something just so I will buy from you. Rambling Rose Restaurant...Grade A, yum yum. Located in Paxico, this restaurant just opened Dec. 2006. Their brisket sandwich is awesome!! The meat is marinated for 3 DAYS, then specially seasoned. A toothless man could eat it! The onion rings are really good, too. If you're traveling I-70 through Wabaunsee County, take a little extra time to stop in for lunch or dinner. Its worth it! Their located right on the main strip, so its easy to find. Sorry, I don't have a phone number yet. Best Buy...Grade F, I will forever avoid Best Buy AT ALL COST!! I don't have enough internet space to tell about all of my problems and bad experiences! Its pretty bad when a small group of us, at the last photo meeting I attended, talked about the negative experiences we've all had with Best Buy. I will tell of only a couple.1. I had a virus on my CPU and a Best Buy associate led me to what he thought was the correct software to correct my unfortunate situation on the cpu. It cost 75$ Upon trying to install it, I realized that it wasn't at all what I needed. I called Best Buy and told them what happened as I am aware of the "once its open, we don't take it back" rule they seem to go by. After arguing with the lady at the store, I explained that I should be able to bring it back because the associate of the store suggested the wrong software! Not me picking out the wrong software. She actually said to me, word for word, "Thats the chance you take when you buy computer software from here". NO KIDDING, SHE REALLY SAID THAT TO ME OVER THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo, I took the incorrect software back and DEMANDED that I be refunded as it wasn't at all my fault. We finally settled on a credit for the 75$ She made it clear to me that once you buy something from B.B., you WILL NOT be refunded. 2. I bought my first CPU from BB a few years ago. It repeatidly broke down. They DO NOT refund money, just exchange the cpu for the upgraded model as my model wasn't sold anymore. After the third time of paying more money for another upgraded cpu, I demanded my money back, and they actually refunded my money. The lady was blatently rude to us through the whole affair!! I have more stories, but won't tell them. MANY of my friends also have unpleasant experiences at this particular location. I don't think the whole corporation is like this, just the Topeka store. I have tried complaining to the "upper management" at the Topeka store, but was told every single time I called (around 4 or 5 calls) that they "weren't available, or weren't in the store" after I explained why I called. I could have gone in and demanded to see one of them, but whats the use. I will just avoid that place in the future!!
