About Soden Photography...

Soden Photography was established in 2005 by Jason Soden. Jason first learned photography by taking a course at Washburn University in Topeka in 2000. Upon graduation from Washburn (Bachelors Degree) in 2003, Jason began to study photography in earnest, beginning as a landscape photographer by photographing mainly Kansas landscapes, which are commonly published in KANSAS! Magazine. Nearly all of Jason's landscape work consists of various themes located within Kansas, most of which were photographed beginning in early 2005. From the Flint Hills, to the Smokey Hills, and beyond, the Kansas landscape offers many fascinating seasonal themes, if one is willing to look beyond the big cities and interstate highways.

I began experimenting in portraiture in 2005 by photographing friends and family members. After receiving a really good response, I decided to pursue portraiture a bit more by studying, and becoming familiar with, different posing methods. I feel that I've developed my own style based on what methods I've studied and liked. My style is a bit different from many other photographers, not the "smile and say cheese" method that is sooo common! Your personality isn't quite the same as your friends, your neighbors, or your relatives. So, why should your portrait look like theirs! So call Soden Photography, and take the first step in creating a portrait you'll be proud to show off in your living room!!

When not photographing, Jason enjoys various athlitic activities such as weightlifting, along with basketball, baseball, softball, jogging, cycling, and expecially hiking. In addition to this, Jason studies meteorlogy in his spare time as he likes to storm chase.
